Choreographically, I am interested in an interdisciplinary approach that challenges the viewers ideals of what dance can be and or look like. Thinking of the body as a vessel; obstructed by influence but maintained by biological nature, I want to challenge the binary. In my practice the process of creating work is a transformative journey that transcends conventional boundaries, weaving together artistic innovation, social commentary, spiritual exploration, and community engagement. It challenges both artists and audiences to reconsider their perspectives and embrace a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of art, culture, and humanity.
My participation in creative practice and play is anchored in a deep understanding of the self, cultivated through meditation, movement, and research. This creative practice extends beyond myself as an individual. It draws nourishment from the cultural milieu that surrounds us—the places we live, the communities we belong to, and the histories that shape our identities. These cultural landscapes provide a rich source of symbols, stories, and traditions that infuse into my creative expression with depth and resonance. They offer me themes to explore, motifs to weave into my own art, and perspectives to challenge and enrich my understanding of the world.
